What Beer Radar Does

Beer Radar helps you discover craft beers at venues near you, using beer and venue data from Untappd. This policy explains what information we handle and why, whether you use the website or the mobile app.

Location

With your permission, we use your device's location to center the map and find venues near you. Your coordinates are used only to answer your map queries and are not stored, tracked over time, or linked to your identity.

Your Untappd Account

Signing in is optional and uses your existing Untappd account (OAuth). We never see your Untappd password. If you sign in, we store:

• Your Untappd username and an access token that lets us act on your behalf. Your avatar image is not stored — it's fetched live from Untappd and linked directly to their servers each time it's shown
• Your first name, last name, and locality (city/region), if your Untappd profile provides them
• A cached copy of your Untappd wishlist, ratings, and favorite beer styles, so the map can filter by them

Logging out disconnects the app: your access token is deleted from our systems. You can also revoke Beer Radar's access at any time from your Untappd account settings.

Cookies & Sessions

We use a single session cookie to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, and we do not run third-party analytics or ad networks.

What We Don't Do

• We do not sell or share your personal information with third parties
• We do not send marketing email
• We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under the legal drinking age in their region

Third-Party Services

Beer and venue data comes from the Untappd API, and map imagery from OpenStreetMap. Links to Untappd pages (beers, breweries, venues) take you to untappd.com, which has its own privacy policy.
